Tune & Title Tuesday | And we’re back to Bad Bunny…

Greetings readers!

We’re back with my weekly feature post! Let’s hope for a full month of April tunes shall we! As for today…

This tune is too good not to share.

And this video?

Iconic.

Tune: Yo Perreo Sola – Bad Bunny

I mean, ICONIC right? This is a big for the Latinx community not only because the song is a bop but the message behind the video is plainly written at the end. “If she doesn’t want to dance with you, respect her, she dances alone.” And I think its monumental. Not to mention the queer context, the body diversity and the green scene which comments on the femicide happening in Mexico that so many women are fighting against! It really said, “Fuck toxic masculinity” XD Truly a powerful video!

Title: Dealing in Dreams by Lilliam Rivera

did

I couldn’t for the life of me find a book about clubbing or consent on my book shelf and that says something (shameful) about me! Then I found this one and I mean fierce girl gangs that run the streets? A world overturning the patriarchy in more than one way? I thinks it fits. Funny enough, men are the ones dancing in this book XD Gotta love those Papi chulos 😉

Let me know what you think! Have you heard of the song? Have you read this book? What are some of your most memorable music videos?

Happy reading!
