Tune & Title Tuesdays | A Tune for the Ages!

Greetings readers!

I was feeling old school this past week so you know what I did? I watched the Hannah Montana Movie. Yup. It was the most random urge that I had and once I thought it, I had to see the movie. And I did watch it and wow the child in me really jumped out singing all the HM songs I used to memorize!

Is the movie amazing? No. Did it introduce an amazing song to the world? Yes.

Tune: The Climb – Miley Cyrus

This song is a staple of my childhood. Not only was it in a movie I anticipated after it was announced, but it was played at my fifth grade graduation! XD Yup and our principal made a whole speech about how this song would follow us for the rest of our lives. And honestly she was not wrong. This is one of my shower-concert songs that you will hear me singing ever so often. It’s quite embarrassing.

Title: The Beauty of the Moment by Tanaz Bhathena

The settings  and cultures of this book and this song could not be more opposite! I mean Mississauga, Ontario vs. Crowley Corners, Tennessee do not have that many similarities. But the reason I paired up the song and story is for the theme of pushing through and appreciating the hard work you put in to get what you want in the end. Susan does not have it easy with the expectations of her family weighing her down and dismissing her artistic talents. It’s a book that doesn’t explore achieving the art dream itself, but the struggle to even muster up the courage and strength to try in the face of adversity, in the face of the climb. (See what I did there 😉 See how it doesn’t make sense XD )

Let me know what you think! Have you read this book? Have you listened to the song? Have you seen Hannah Montana: The Movie? What books about facing struggles did you enjoy?

Happy reading!

  1. It’s only a matter of time before we all re-watch The Hannah Montana movie. That was such an epic moment. I still have to remind myself that it was a show, and no, she was not *truly* revealing her identity to the world. It was that emotional. *wipes away tear* and YES THAT MOVIE WAS AMAZING, I choose to disagree haha.

Um um a book about facing struggle.. *stares at bookshelf* I’m pretty sure every single book has a struggle but my memory is like, “I can’t come to the phone right now.”
