Today’s tunes and title are very much inspired by the Narnia movie marathon I just finished 5 minutes ago. (That is not a joke) The whole day I was struggling to come up with a tune and title and then I watched the movies and was floored with all the amazing songs and I just had to write about two of my favourites!
Tune: Lucy – Hanne Hukkelberg
I don’t gravitate towards this kind of music often, but I cannot help but love the beauty of this song. The lyrics, the music everything about it just screams magic! It is one of my absolute favourite songs from this soundtrack and there are so many good ones!
Bonus Tune: The Call – Regina Spektor
Are you crying? Because I get emotional whenever I hear this song! Not only does it totally capture the final scene of the movie so well, it is also so beautiful on its own. The lyrics are moving and the music is whimsical. I remember when I was young I printed out the lyrics so I could memorize it! And friends…I MEMORIZED IT! I can only guess at how many shower concerts had this song featured in it.
Title: The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth
Of course I’m going to choose the Narnia-ish inspired book to go with these Narnia-inspired tunes! The wanderlust in these songs just really hits the right note with this book. The story itself is poignant and quite emotional but also very hopeful which is what these songs offer to the listener in the end. This is one of my favourite historical fantasy books and I highly recommend it!

How DARE you put The Call on this list? *sobs* Would you believe, when I was in Australia I went to one of the school assemblies for the child I was taking care of. And some of the students did a musical performance and they SANG THE CALL. Anyway so please picture me just quietly sobbing in the background as several little australian school kids sang about saying goodbye but not goodbye forever.

I DID DARE OUT THE CALL ON THIS LIST! and OMG why on earth are little Australian children singing songs about goodbyes! I would have been in tears too!
