Holiday / January Wrap Up & February TBR

Greetings Readers!

This past month has honestly been a whirlwind. So many exciting things have happened, I have read so many amazing books and yeah started another semester of uni, but let’s focus on the good stuff.

I have big plans for February, the shortest month of the year. But I have a feeling I might be pulled away due to the aforementioned uni situation, but f*** it, I’m still gonna enjoy myself. *I’ll pay the high price later.*

What Rendz Read

Did I get through my Holiday TBR? LOL

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
I just cannot with this book. Please read my RANT REVIEW to know more.
*This book is also the reason I didn’t finish my Holiday TBR!*

i read kingdom of ash (1)

The Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo It has been years since I read this series and I can honestly tell you I remember the bare minimum. All my memories of this series are foggy which means I am in desperate need of a reread! Especially since Nikolai Lanstov is getting his own series!!! King of Scars will be hitting shelves early 2019 and I cannot wait for it! Not only do we get Nikolai but also Zoya, Nina (from Six of Crows) and a monk character!!!!! If you guys haven't seen the trailer for KoS, I highly--HIGHLY--suggest you go watch it. So intense. So epic. I get chillsssssss!!!! How excited are you for King of Scars? Do you plan on revisiting the Grishaverse sometime soon? *Had to repost due to technical difficulties 🙈* #shadowandbone #siegeandstorm #ruinandrising #kingofscars #grishaverse #leighbardugo #ya #youngadultbooks #books #yafantasy

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Still have all the feels.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
More feels. Plus Nikolai.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
Just so much love. So much love.

Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye
Yikes. I did not enjoy this one. My Full Review.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
This was a fun, but typical retelling! My Full Review.

a curse so dark and lonely

The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie
This was not quite what I thought it was going to be. Review to come

Book Haul!

Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard

Tarot by Marissa Kennerson
The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe by Allie Condie
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
Blood Heir by Amelie When Zao
*Due the recent controversy surrounding this book and it’s pull from publication, I don’t think I will be reading it any time soon. Should the author ever release a revised version, which I hope she does, I will def pick that one up*

The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie
We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett

The Rule of One by Ashley and Leslie Saunders

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

GRISHAVERSE MOVIE NEWS

I think I lost my mind that day. Like I read the news right before my 3-hour Spanish lecture and I just could not focus! What is el futuro tense?

MY GOD, IF THEY DON’T GET THIS RIGHT THO….THERE WILL BE RIOTS.

BUT STILL WE ARE GETTING ADAPTATIONS *eternal screaming*

I FAN-ARTED

I had to do something to commemorate The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth because I love it that much. It didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted and there is def room for improvement, but I still really like it!

FAN ART REVEAL TIME! Last October, I fell in love with THE LIGHT BETWEEN WORLDS by @lauraeweymouth The bond between Evelyn and Phil was one of the most beautifully portrayed sister relationships I have ever read. It is wonderfully flawed and yet so loving. This illustration was in part inspired by Picasso's painting "The Two Sisters" (1902), which I found while scrolling Laura's Pinterest board (and it might have been referenced in the book...?) The point is: I really loved this book. I had to draw something for it. And I can't wait to read it again! What sibling relationship do you cherish? #TheLightBetweenWorlds #LauraEWeymouth #bookstagram #fanart #yabooks #books #reader #bookishcanadians #fantasy #youngadultbooks #historicalfiction #underratedbooks #epicreads

I BINGED THE ENTIRE LORE OLYMPUS WEBTOON SERIES AND I NEED MORE

I saw someone on twitter tweet about it. Then I went to the author/artist’s twitter page, clicked the link to the webtoon link and spent 3 hours reading every single episode. It is honestly so great. I need more in my life, especially since I have to wait for weekly updates *sobs*

It’s cheeky, sassy and like they are all so thirsty, but there is also a really emotional level in the series too. I just..I *heart eyes*

  1. Great post! I also read the Shadow and Bone series throughout January and am now in the middle of Ruin and Rising because The Wicked King was of higher priority haha! But I loved it! And I seriously didn’t know Nikolai would play a big part, it was a huge but very very pleasant surprise for me!

  2. I really enjoyed Enchantee and hope you do too 🙂 it’s very favorite book from Flatiron books so far. I totally understand how you are on Blood Heir. I decided to not review it right now until we learn about it in the future and if it’s revised, I’ll pick it up as well 😀 glad it was a great month for you!
