The X-Files Book Tag

Greetings readers!

One of my favourite bloggers ever, Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews, created her very own tag for one of her favourite fandoms, the X-files. I have never actually watched it, but I always read Mandy’s little rants about the show. Which by the way are very entertaining, and I am quite intrigued by the show!

So thank you, thank you, thank you Mandy for tagging me, and I hope you all enjoy!

The Rules:

  • Take out your fake FBI badge and answer the questions
  • You can link back to Book Princess Reviews (aka pingback to this post) if you wish, so I can fangirl all over your posts
  • Keep the alien love alive possibly and tag any and all X-Files fans you know…or just other people – either or?

Fox Mulder
Image result for fox mulder

Fox is known to have some “out there” beliefs, so name a book that you believe in despite everyone/ratings/reviews tell you perhaps isn’t that great

A Book of Spirits and Thieves (Spirits and Thieves, #1)
via Goodreads

Spirits and Thieves series by Morgan Rhodes

These books actually don’t have terrible ratings, a 3.97 for book 1 and 4.16 for book 2. Unfortunately, the ratings were not enough and the third planned book in this trilogy was cancelled indefinitely. This really sucks since book 2 had such a big cliffhanger. Plus it’s half set in Toronto and you guys know how patriotic Rendz gets.

Dana Scully

Just like the resident FBI skeptic, name a book that you’re skeptical of (because of hype, sketchy cover, etc.)

The ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas

First, the hype for the series is ridiculous.

Secondly, I am no longer a fan of her Throne of Glass series

Third, I just have a feeling reading this series will not go well for me.

I Want to Believe

What book do you believe, just like the  famous tagline, will be your next 5 star/crown read off of your TBR?

A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes, #3)
via Goodreads

A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir

I’m reading it right now and I am literally off the rails right now. So many emotions course through me at once, I can’t get past a few pages without soundlessly screeching.

Name a book that on your TBR that is from a genre that seems out from another book world to you but still sounds super good

Orphan Monster Spy
via Goodreads

Orphan Monster Spy by Matt Killeen

This is a historical fiction novel set in the time of World War II and Nazi Germany. I hardly, hardly ever pick up Historical Fic and books about WWII don’t usually reach out to me, but this one still sounds really intense and epic. I’m looking forward to it.

The Lone Gunmen
the lone gunmen

Name a book that comes along with an epic team just like these three hacking men

Wow. I love books with epic teams so I am just going to go on ahead and list them. The Dregs (SoC), The Rampion Crew (TLC), The Pevensies (Narnia), The Penderwicks, etc.

Walter Skinner

Image result for walter skinner gif

Skinner is the boss that forever teeters on the edge of good and evil, so name a conflicting character for you (whether the character is just conflicted or you’re conflicted about your feelings for them)

Helene Aquilla

Now I know a lot of people love Helene. I do too. But she has very questionable values and umm she’s not exactly the most compassionate/sympathetic person in the world. I think a lot of it has to do with her upbringing. She does have a, I don’t want to say good side, but she does have a better side than what she often portrays and I hope that part of her can shine more often. But by the looks of it……it might take longer than I think.

Cancer Man/ Cigarette Smoking Man

Image result for cigarette smoking man gif

Name the worst book villain you can think of just like this smoking fiend who refuses to stay dead

The Commandant

Someone kill this bitch already!

I Tag…

Eva @ Brilliantly Bookish

Kiersten @ Once Upon a Spine

And you! For any X-Files Fans out there that want to give this a shot, I totally recommend you give it a go! (Then go fangirl with Mandy, she will be forever grateful!)

Let me know what you think! Do you share any answers with me? Have any ideas of what you would fit into these prompts? Are you a fan of the X-files?

Happy reading!

~ Rendz

  1. Oooooooooooooh, I was soundlessly screeching during your tag, so we’re at that level. Rendz’s answers + X-Files = some of Mandy’s favorite things. But wow I didn’t know about Morgan Rhodes’s book! I feel like hype was super big for the first book in the series and then I never heard anything else. That is too bad, because I was eagerly awaiting a patriotic fangirling from Rendz and thought about picking up the book series myself. :/ But cannot wait to see what I’m sure will be a 5 star review of Reaper!!! Thank you so much for doing the tag, Rendz, and it was the bestttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! ❤ ❤ ❤
