Ringing in the New Year Book Tag!

Greetings readers!

I was tagged by the lovely Sophie @ Blame Chocolate to do the Ringing in the New Year Tag! Sophie is a wonderful friend and blogger! She has tons of great reviews and posts, so make sure to drop by and pay her a visit!

It is still January so the idea of setting goals is still applicable. Especially if you have already broken some resolutions, it is not too late to set some more!

Best book and/or series that you’ve read in 2017

*I say rereads count!*

I reread The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer in the summer of 2017, which was the best decision I have ever made. Reliving all those emotions and revisiting the characters I adore was the most amazing experience!

I wrote four fangirling posts along the way which was also pretty fun, so if you want to check those out, be my guest!

A Moment of Fangirling: Cinder A Moment of Fangirling: ScarletA Moment of Fangirling: Cress A Moment of Fangirling: Winter

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year

Roshani Chokshi, Stephanie Garber, Kendare Blake, Lilliam Rivera, Silvia Moreno-Garcia

***And clearly in 2018 I have to go about finding some male authors of interest too! I hear Jay Kristoff and Neal Shusterman are ones to look out for!

Most anticipated book turned movie/tv show?

I’m pretty excited to see The Hate U Give movie…I believe it comes out this year! There are so many other YA adaptations coming to the big screen, but I haven’t had a chance to read them yet!

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight (if there is one)

CARSWELL THORNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHAOL WESTFALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT MOSTLY CARSWELL THORNE!

How many books do you hope to read in 2018?

60 is my plan. 25 Debuts and whatever I find on my shelves or the library!

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any others (PopSugar, Down the TBR Hole, etc.)

Yes! As stated above I plan on reading 60 books, so I have Goodreads to keep me on track! It is the same personal goal I had from last year and I got close but didn’t exactly achieve it. Here’s to hoping this year turns out better!

Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish, blogging (or vlogging), and otherwise)

I do! I even wrote a whole blog post so that they would be written out meaning I can’t opt-out anymore!

New year reading goals

  1. Read my shelves
  2. Read 25 Debuts of 2018 in 2018
  3. Get to 1000 followers (I’ll kind of need your help for this one)
  4. Manage my book money
  5. Expand my genres

You can check out my full post here!

In terms of life goals….I’m trying to get Real Life-Rendz together. We have important decisions to make and she has to not be afraid of change and taking risks. So hand me your most inspirational quotes, please!

  1. Yay, awesome post! I loved your answers and couldn’t agree more with Chaol (our baby!!!) *_* I love Thorne but I really don’t see him as boyfriend material hahaha I think it would be weird for us to share a kiss at midnight, although I can definitely picture him stealing it from me because that’s just how Thorne rolls. And when I say me, probably every other girl in the room too xD
TLC was one of my favorite series too, but I didn’t read it last year so it didn’t count. Speaking of which, I still need to read Nerves & Wire D:
I will be checking out Kristoff and Shusterman sometime this year, too, if I can. They are so hyped, I wanna see what the fuss is about 😉
Thank you for the lovely shout-out, by the way! I consider you a wonderful friend and blogger too ❤ ❤ *hugs*

    1. Thanks Sophie!!! I’m trash for Thorne and Chaol, Sophie. Utter trash for them. Can you blame me? *massive heart eyes*
I hope you get to Wires & Nerve soon and then finish strong with Volume 2 which comes out in like 2 weeks!
I have Nevernight so I’m hoping that it truly does live up to its hype!
Awww your so sweet! *hugs back*

  2. YET ANOTHER PRETTY FANTASTIC GRAPHIC, RENDZ. Literally how I’m going to start every post now, lol.

But I’m super excited to see so many TLC references in there so we can get pumped for Gone Rogueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. *counting down days now* And guess who got book 1 of Throne of Glass series???? SO NOW I CAN SEE THE CHAOL LOVE.

    Wonderful tag, Rendz!! ❤

    1. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! I think that’s a great comment intro so feel free to keep the compliments coming 😉
I HAD TO REFERENCE TLC, I MUST ALWAYS REFERENCE TLC!
GONE ROGUE IS COMING OUT IN TWO WEEKS AND WHEN IT SHOWS UP AT MY DOOR I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TIME TO FINISH IT THAT WEEK INSTEAD OF WAITING A MILLIONS YEARS (TWO MONTHS) LIKE I DID FOR RENEGADES! *AM SUPER PUMPED*
*Hesitant Yippee for getting ToG 1! I really hope you have a better experience with this series than I did Mandy! I mean I hope you LOVE Chaol, but I will be 100% honest after book 2 it’s kind of a snooze fest! *sigh* I’m still excited to see what you think of it though!

        ALWAYS. IT IS A LAW.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. *fingers crossed that you can read it right away because we must sit and cry together*
Oh gosh. I’m super worried. I’m like, I know Rendz has had such a struggle with it, but my friend hyped me up for it (but I mean, she five stars books I literally gives 2 too so this could be an issue after the first two lol). We’ll have to see.

      2. I WANT TO CRY TOGETHER!!! YESSSSSS!!!!
After I pressed enter to my last comment, I realized how depressing it really sounded lol. I liked the first two books (and that’s about it really…except I did enjoy book 7 cuz you know…Chaol <3) Curious…..how does your friend feel towards the MCs of the book?
